Air-flow germicidal units emit ultraviolet radiation UV-C band (254 nm wavelength) which effectively destroying microorganisms in irradiated region.
The air flow germicidal unit draws contaminated air from the room and returns disinfected air.

Application MEDIVENT

The MEDIVENT flow germicidal unit is designed for the use in hospitals, consulting rooms, beauty parlours, hairdresser shops, offices, schools, farms, drug-production plants, food industry, warehouses and everywhere airborne microorganisms produce harmful effect.

  • In health service premises, laboratories, waiting-rooms - to reduce risk of conveying infection from one person to the other
  • In treatment rooms, intensive care rooms, recovery rooms and other rooms occupied by patients with reduced immunological barrier
  • To protect sterile tissue cultures, blood and blood-born products, culture media etc. against contamination
  • To reduce risk of contamination of pure culture of wine yeast, baker s yeast etc. with wild-type strains
  • In production, storage and trade, to protect food products against airborne microorganisms causing decay of products
  • In breeding premises - to reduce risk of droplet infection

 

MAIN FEATURES of MEDIVENT:

  • Disinfects air in rooms at the lowest cost
  • Is efficient in killing for bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and for fungi from kind Candida albicans
  • May be used in rooms occupied by people, animals, plants without any harmful effect
  • Operates noiselessly, it emits neither harmful substances nor radiation; contrary to chemical methods disinfected rooms are not contaminated with chemicals

The following types of MEDIVENT units are distinguished with respect to mounting method:
a) wall-mounted unit               VFW
b) mobile stand-mounted unit  VFS
c) ceiling-mounted unit            VFC

According to quantity of applied UV-bulbs our units can be divided into two categories:
a) three-UV bulbs units        VF…-100
b) double- UV bulbs units     VF…-70

The unit is designed as rectangular housing made of aluminum sections, comprising radiation chamber with two or three UV-C bulbs. The chamber design ensures tightness and thus prevents escape of the ultraviolet radiation to the chamber surroundings.
Air flow round the UV bulbs is forced by silently operating fan. A filter is mounted to the fan, to keep the bulbs and the unit inside clean
Time of operation of the bulbs is indicated by time counter which together switch and lamps indicate damage UV-bulbs are located on front base unit.

OPERATION TIME COUNTER DATA

1. Radiators operation time in hours - if the alarm level (7,900 h) is achieved, the counter begins to blink every second. After reaching 8,000 h, a beeping sound turns on (only in the counter status display mode).

2. Radiators condition - depending on their type, the system of 2 or 3 radiators is displayed. The "o" symbol stands for correct operation, whereas the "-" indicates a failure. A blinking radiator symbol may indicate its intermittent operation.

3. Program number - the "P-*" appears on the display, in which numbers from 0 to 9 may be displayed instead of the "*". The number defines the operation mode of the device within a 24-hour cycle. A factory setting predefined as "P-0" means continuous operation - during which the system may be turned on or off with a switch.

 

 

Resistances to ultraviolet radiation are different for various microorganisms. Environment of microorganisms also strongly affects radiation dose required to destroy them. With 3 cm distance between microorganisms and the UV-bulbs the unit with 3 compact UV-bulbs produces approximately 13 mW s/cm2 and the unit with 2 compact UV-bulbs produces approximately 8 mW s/cm2. When radiation doses required to destroy different microorganisms are known, a time necessary for deactivation of airborne microorganisms can be determined.
